Mrs. Reca Lynch, 75, a resident of Linden, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital after being severley burned in the home of her grandson. Witnesses said that Mrs. Lynch was preparing breakfast in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Leath 801 Franklin St. when the accident occurred. She was using her apron as a hot pad to take a coffeepot off the stove when the apron caught fire. She suffered burns over most of her body. Reca Freida Lynch was a native of Germany, born March 24, 1888. She was married three times. Her first two husband were Edward Leath and Claude Scott. Her last marriage was to James Lynch, who survives. She lived in Nebraska and in Illinois before coming to this county, where she resided at Waveland, then for the last several years at Linden. Mrs. Lynch was employed as a practical nurse and cook. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Roy Edward Leath of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Marie Schmidt of Beatrice, Neb.; two brothers, George and Harm Hippin of Beatrice, Neb., and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Friday at the Bright Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Willis A. Syphers will officiate and interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Waveland.
